Easter will be early this year, on April 8th to be exact, and Mom has created a wonderful silk flower centerpiece for this year’s table scape. I love the unique element of having a white chocolate bunny on top that is being haloed by a pretty, pink jewel umbrella above it. This centerpiece comes together pretty quickly and will make a lovely addition to your Easter table.
To make this Easter arrangement, you’ll need: a white chocolate bunny, decorative moss, silk hydrangeas in several colors, a jewel silk flower stem, pastel colored plastic eggs, coordinating ribbon, floral foam, floral picks with wire or toothpicks, a hot glue gun and a large container to build your arrangement in.
Start by filling the base of the container with floral foam for dry flowers, use a knife to shape the pieces to fit.
Then place a smaller piece of floral foam on top of the other foam pieces and secure it by pushing floral picks through the base of the top foam and into the foam pieces below it. Cover the top piece of foam with decorative moss and secure it in place using a hot glue gun.
Next you’ll want to place the white chocolate bunny on top of the arrangement and secure it by placing floral picks at its base. It’s okay if the picks show, you’ll be covering them later.
Cut the tops of your silk hydrangeas off and start to place them around the base of the arrangement. Mix the colors to create a fun, springtime bouquet.
To add some finishing touches, tuck the leaves from the silk flower hydrangea stems between the flowers. Then bend a curve into the jewel floral stem, and place it in the arrangement so the jewels dangle over the bunny, forming an umbrella. Tuck pastel colored plastic eggs around the base of the bunny.
Create ribbon loops and bows by folding a piece of ribbon in half, then pinching the ends together and wrapping with the wire from the floral picks. Then tuck these ribbon loops into various locations around the base of the arrangement.
Finish embellishing the arrangement by placing more eggs around the bunny. Tuck small flowers on the back of the bunny to give it a finished look. Then weave a thin ribbon around the base of the bunny and through the eggs.
Set the rest of your table with fun easter colors and use any left over eggs and hydrangea leaves to create mini Easter vignettes at each place setting. This year we’re serving pink lemonade with our meal and as the sun shines through the window it creates pink sparkles in the lemonade and the pink jeweled umbrella over the bunny.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter! And, as always, a big thank you to my mom for creating this fun centerpiece.
It is really beautiful!
Thanks! To be fair, Mom did all of the work, I just hovered with a camera and tried to do it justice! 🙂
Really elegant – and the pictures make it look so easy
It was so easy! Just keep shoving hydrangeas into the floral foam and you’re all set. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
This looks like fun and the end display is fresh and sweet. Thanks for the inspiration!
Glad you like it! I’d love to see pictures if you decide to give it go!
