I always do the same with my icecubes! Like the mint and lavender ones, just never tried the vanilla, what a great idea! Am following you now by mail, and will go now to follower your twitter haha 🙂

Glad you found me Ina! Do you usually use your cubes in tea and lemonade too?

  3. July 17, 2012 at 10:25 am

These are going to be going in my freezer today for sure ^_^ still have to go to the store anyway… imma bring some herbs! Nice idea!

Awesome! Did you try the lavender ones? They’re strangely delicious!

I never thought I’d think of an ice cube as gorgeous, but that’s what these are! They look delicious, too. What a great idea!

Aww, thanks! Also, I’m loving the natural dye experiment series on your site right now!

Loving the honey and vanilla cubes – what a great idea!

Thanks PJ! They’re such a good combo with the spice in chai tea.

They look so good I wouldn’t want to see them melt. Will have to try making those Vanilla and Almond ones out one day! Sound delicious 🙂

Thanks philosopher! I’ve been behind on my reading lately…I’ve got to get over your way and catch up on your philosophizing poetry.

Really cool idea – I’ll have to make some mint cubes for iced tea. I’ve put mint in cubes before, but hadn’t thought to brew them for a bit first – the flavour is probably stronger and better.

    • July 18, 2012 at 9:38 am

I used to use just crushed mint leaves but I never got enough of the flavor for my taste, the darn things took too long to melt! 🙂

P.S. I LOVE your blog name!

I recently went to a shindig where the hostess offered lemonade ice cubes to drop into her homemade iced tea. What’s that called? An Arnold Palmer, maybe? Looks like flavored cubes may be the next big thing! Yay for non-watered-down drinks!

    • July 18, 2012 at 9:35 am

      What a smart hostess! 😉

Check back next week for flavored ice cubes, part 2! I had so much fun making these that it went on for several trays of fun and I’ve got many more to share. Including some fabulous lemonade cubes!

  10. July 18, 2012 at 3:52 pm

Yum! I will definitely try the lavender cubes!

  11. July 22, 2012 at 11:02 am

Wow, THANK YOU Katie for these great recipes and what perfect timing since the temperature here has been 100º F all week. We’ve made several of these and they were all luscious!

    • July 23, 2012 at 7:23 pm

Fantastic! I’m so glad you like them…I had fun making them, so there’s more to come! It was the hot (and humid…oh the humidity!) weather here that inspired them in the first place.

  12. July 26, 2012 at 11:24 pm

I love that all of these flavored cubes go into tea, seeing as how I work at a tea shop. Now I can really spice up the flavors!

    • August 2, 2012 at 11:18 am

I’m so jealous that you work in a tea shop! I probably wouldn’t leave it if I worked there. 🙂

Check back later this week, I’ve got more flavored cubes that are great in tea because it’s all I drink, no coffee for this gal!

  13. August 3, 2012 at 2:13 pm

SO creative! I do this with juice, but that’s really only to keep me from drinking too much of it! The mint ones are so pretty and the vanilla almond milk sounds YUM-MEE! Looking forward to seeing what else you came up with!

  14. August 6, 2012 at 9:25 am

These look SO good! The mint especially. I must keep this in mind for when summer arrives in Australia. They’d be so perfect on a hot day!

  15. August 7, 2012 at 9:58 am

These look great … looking forward to part 2.

  18. July 3, 2013 at 3:00 pm

Love this! And I just got some edible lavender that needs to be put to use plus my mints are exploding in the garden!

    • July 3, 2013 at 4:48 pm

Oh, that’s fantastic! Do you have different types of mint in your garden?

  19. July 3, 2013 at 4:54 pm

I think I saw flavored icecubes once before on your blog? And they actually came up in my mind again a couple of days back when it was really warm. I was soooo craving them!!!! They look incrediblee >_<

  20. July 17, 2013 at 4:33 pm

This is such a good idea. Sometimes we freeze orange juice to use as cubes, but I never thought to actually flavour them. Fantastic!
